The High Chaparral is een Amerikaanse televisieserie met als thema Western, met in de hoofdrollen Leif Erickson en Cameron Mitchell. De serie werd van 1967 tot 1971 uitgezonden op NBC. De serie, gemaakt door Xanadu Productions in samenwerking met NBC Productions, werd gecreëerd door David Dortort, die eerder de hit Bonanza had gecreëerd voor het netwerk. Het themalied werd ook geschreven en gedirigeerd door Bonanza scorer David Rose, die ook de twee uur durende pilot scoorde.

Needing to fulfill an Army contract for the sale of horses, John Cannon, Buck, Manolito and Wind head for Indian country to round up a wild herd. Confronted by a tribe of embittered Apaches led by White Horse and Red Eagle, Cannon is allowed access to the herd only on condition that White Horse accompany the group with Buck left behind in the Apache camp.
