Worum geht es in Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend?

Tomoya Aki arbeitet in Teilzeit, um seine Anime-Blu-ray-Sammlung finanzieren zu können. Eines Nachts rennt er auf dem Weg nach Hause zufällig in das schönste Mädchen, das er je gesehen hat. Als Hobby-Spieleentwickler gestaltet er die Heldin seines neuen Spiels nach dem Mädchen, das er zuvor auf seinem Heimweg traf. Ein Monat ist seit jeher vergangen und Tomoya findet schließlich heraus, dass dieses Mädchen Megumi heißt und seine Klassenkameradin ist. Ihre Präsenz ist jedoch sehr schwach. Tomoya trifft allerdings noch auf weitere Probleme: Da er weder künstlerisches, noch literarisches Talent besitzt, muss er zwei seiner Klassenkameraden davon überzeugen, dies für ihn zu übernehmen. Schafft es Tomoya ein anständiges Spiel für den Markt zu entwickeln?
